My mirror was hit and just the glass came off. I have the replacement glass. I see some plastic clips and metal prongs on the back of the new glass mirror. Is there a recommended way of clipping this new mirror on?

Hey I’ve got a 2018 - same question. My mirror is still in tact though. How do I pop it out?

I just followed the instructions in the video and the mirror does pop off. It attached by a couple plastic prongs behind the mirror itself thars part of the black plastic framing the glass mirmir sits in. Be careful when popping out the mirror cause there are wires attached to the glass behind and you will need to disconnect those inorder to completely remove the mirror. After you purchase a new mirror, which comes with the black framing attached teconnect the wires and then line up the prongs and press firmly to pop the mirror back in place. Be sure to double check that the mirror is securely attached intoplace and that prongs catched otherwise it mayfall out while driving. Hope this helps. I pay like90 bucks for the replacement mirtor at thetoyota dealer

Yes, you can buy just the mirror glass with a plastic back, at least for a 2nd gen. I'm in the process of replacing my glass with heated mirrors.
