I've seen this question asked a few times in several places but never yet a suitable answer:

I want to swap my stock molded carpet for a molded, fitted, vinyl or rubber replacement. Similar to what you find in a fleet vehicle.

Does anyone know of a source/supplier?

(And please don't reference bedliner products or similar. There is wiring and air ducts and other brikabrak under there. Not looking to go that route.)

    This would be nice…

I remember my dads 2001 Chevy Cheyenne base had rubber flors… I always liked it… it does not hold any dirt like carpet…

I guess easy way is weathertech/husky liners

My carpeted floor looks like new under it..

A friend has a Toyota FJ and has all factory rubber flooring no carpets as he can pressure wash the inside of his truck. Wish they did that to all the Tacos especially if you have a long haired dog cause it sticks to the carpeting and hard to vaccum

Excellent question. People make molded rubber kits for Land Rover Defenders that, in one sheet, completely covers the entirety of the foot wells, under seats, and over the transmission bump in the middle. Complete coverage with one piece is really nice and allows for hosing the car out without removal. I don't think there's anything like it for our Tacomas but would love to see something.

When you say one piece that means you would have to remove seats etc to cover the whole floor.
The older FJ had the rubber flooring under seats from factory install.

Yes there are rubber floor kits for the Defender that require removal of the seats (which is easy on those). There is also a one piece kit just for the footwells and center bump that doesn't go under the seats. It's nice to have options. People drive Defenders through rivers and sh*t so carpet is rarely an option. Full coverage, one piece rubber is really nice.

My 94 Toyota Pickup had rubber floors, bench seat, manual hubs, window cranks, No A/C, AM/FM radio, manual transfer case. I miss it.

Try OC Auto Carpets. I bought pre molded carpet from them and it fit great, they also offer the rubber molded stuff. Very reasonable price.

My old company work truck was from about 94ish and it had the full rubber floor, also. For some DAFT REASON, the mfrs aren't making them for 3rd gen Tacoma yet .. and soooooo many people want them. ‍♂️

Yep. I looked. They're a first page Google hit. No Tacoma. I think they have Camry, Corolla and 4Runner. But no Tacoma.

Ah, looks like they don’t stock the 3rd gen stuff yet.

And given the absolutely RAGING aftermarket for 3rd gen toys... WTF?

It is truly genuinely baffling to me.

Anybody wanna go into business manufacturing molded rubber carpet replacements for 3rd gens??

I haven't had rubber floors since my old Ford Ranger. IIRC, you can still get that floor, even on upper level trimmed F-250 models. I wish I could get that in the Tacoma!

I so agree with you! This wouldn't be hard to do with all the newer laser measuring systems out there. Once they got the template they could easily have an automated press mold that plastic or rubber. Probably make a fortune, too.

Here is a really dumb idea. Buy a replacement carpet piece from Toyota and then just use that as a template and have some kind of shop cut that template in a durable rubber material. Has to be people who do that.

You have hit on a great idea. Measure once. Template once. Make a ton on volume sales.

Edit: Link to the carpet assembly for reference:

At the moment, the best I got is to buy a replacement carpet, and paint it with something like "Tool Dip"... Or whatever that rubberizer paint is. Paint the carpet and all. I figure it'll eat like 3 GALLONS Of the stuff...

I COULD try breaking out my Wahl razor and the #1 and buzz-cut the carpet lower...

I want to keep the padding/insulation, and I want the form-fitted molded/melted-to-form shape.
