Repainting a RSI Smartcap EVO

I am on the verge of purchasing a used white RSI Smartcap EVO for my 2021 DCSB Tacoma.

Only problem is the Smartcap is white and my Taco is lunar rock. The deal for this smartcap would be tough to pass up.

So, I am wondering if anyone has any experience in repainting these? I don't want it to look like shit AKA cheap sanding and spray paint. Would a shop be able to repaint this? If not lunar rock, even black would look much better than white on my truck.

A paint shop would be able to paint it and (very closely) color match it, so it's Lunar Rock. Or you can have them paint it flat or glossy black, to make it pop and accent the Lunar Rock color. But yeah, a local (reputable) paint shop can do that for you.

 

I asked a local paint shop, they quoted me like 4K. I knew it was gonna be high but wtf. Maaco painted a cap for me for $500.

 

I think that the white on those caps is smooth, so getting it wrapped could also be an option.

 

They didn't want to do it. That's why the high price. Normally about 1k to 1.5k, would be the price. Shits gone up.

 

I think they hated painting camper shells. They like to do insurance work. That’s where the money is.
