I offroad a lot and my paint is PINSTRIPPED to all hell. Kinda want a military look to my truck so I was thinking of sending off old paint and repainting with a matte quicksand kind of color. I have a gun to paint with no canned crap. How would a matte paintjob hold up to the AZ desert? Does it scratch bad?

How bad do the scratches look? I couldn't seem to find picture . Might end up doing gloss quicksand? Maybe a wrap?

I would think scratches wouldn't really show up on a matte or flat tan?

Another option might be wrapping . I’d be interested to see the truck when it’s done with either paint or wrap.

Remember, a re-paint - particularly with a color change - will kill your resale value more than some desert pin striping.

That's a good point, I didnt even think of the resale value. I was just worried about ripping up a wrap. I could put more money in for a thick wrap then ceramic over it.

Lol somewhat true. But to fix a wrap can be cheaper to fix paint and labor.

If you're already scratching your paint, and you plan to keep off-roading, why repaint it? But if you do want to change the color, you could look into Raptor liner. You can dye it any color you want and it's tough as nails.

    Bedline the whole truck.
It doesn't make sense to take a truck that's damaged from wheeling, repaint it, then take it wheeling.

    Check out DipYourCar.com

They just came out with a new "DipArmor" that not only fuel and chemical resistant but very scratch resistant. It is still peel-able as well so you can peel it off whenever you'd like or get tired of it. Also it can be repaired if a deeper scratch happens.
