So last night, while on the highway, a guy towing a food trailer cut me off. Grease was pouring out of the back of the trailer and sprayed all over the front and windshield of my truck. Does anyone have any advice on what I should use to clean the truck? I used the windshield wipers and it was able to clean the windshield but I can still see all of the spots where the grease was. So I'm assuming that regular soap may not work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Dawn is amazing. I put a few drops in my pressure washer's soap bottle and go to town.

Dawn dish soap should take care of it, believe it or not.

Dawn will work amazingly to remove the grease, but remember that Dawn will also remove the wax from the truck. If you use it, make sure you do a really good wax when done.

bump for dish soap. Once you get all the grease removed, apply wax to hood and other areas you used soap on body. Dish soap will also remove wax coat.

Lol. I feel your pain. I run waste veggie oil in f350. It's great, ran okc to florida and back on 8 gallons of diesel. But the stuff is NASTY. best stuff to get it off is the purple bottle of zep degreaser (lowes) BUT YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DILUTE IT!!!!!! I'd try dawn 1st. If not get the zep spay wipe and wash it off quickly
The stuff is nasty strong. You might try it on spot/car you wouldn't mind a blemish on 1st. I use it on ford all the time, but I wouldn't care if it dulled the paint on that thing. Good luck, keep it out of the sun. That stuff bakes on and will get hard as nails

Try Simple Green if it's available in your area. It's more wax-friendly than Dawn dish soap.

Wow, a lot of quick responses! Thanks guys. I have it parked in the garage at work right now so it's not in the sun. Going to leave early and try to get it cleaned up.

ammonia on a cloth will take the grease off completely

[but dish soap will do it too]

Since kinda on the topic....any recommendations on how to clean the undercarriage of the truck? To clean off the road grime and greasy components without damaging the parts....besides just taking a pressure washer to it?

I think Dawn will do it. My initial thought was as someone else mentioned earlier -- simple green concentrate diluted per the instructions in bucket of water..... pour it all over the truck and wipe it down. Rinse and repeat where necessary. I think the Simple Green would be easier on your wax whereas Dawn would strip the wax. Edit: I'm not a chemist and won't pretend to claim in-depth knowledge of the differences in product and how they might or might not affect your paint/wax.

    just pressure wash it

but do not focus on the ujoints and do not focus on any wiring for the tranny, gas tank, or o2 sensor,
and don't try to blast up above the tranny from below

the wiring is all tucked in, so if you just lean down and blast from the ground up to the bottom, that's fine

I wouldn't wash it off of the underbody... you got a rust preventative treatment for free! Shit people pay good money for Fluid Film! :D

So I ran it thru a car wash and now I have very fine scratches in the clear coat on the hood, and I'm assuming it's from dirty brushes in the car wash since this is the first time I've ever washed the car. Anyone know how to fix that? I'm about to just take it to a detailing place...

You ran it thru an automatic car wash ? And not even one that was touch free ?

If you're going to do that, you need to invest in a random orbital buffer, pads, and some polishes. Or... take it to a pro to do. Or... learn to live with the noticeable imperfections.

    Simple home made formula:
    1 part water
    1 part isopropyl alcohol
    1 part ammonia
I mention this mix specifically for the outside nasty window only!!! This will kill the shade of window tint on the inside.

For the inside and normal outside glass use I like sprayway, a four pack is like 10 bucks.
