Everything else is off. Is there a trick to removing the window handle?

There is a C shaped clip under the base of the handle, between the handle and the door. There is a tool to remove it, but I have done it with 2 thin flathead screwdrivers. You have to find the ends of the clip, and gently push the clip off. It's not the right way but it works.

X2 on the previous post. There are a number of tricks to get that off without damaging anything. Here's a video on point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGAVJg2luCE

I've even used a shop rag in a pinch. Just be sure to wear eye protection and be carefull as those clips can sometimes fly when released from captivity.

Normally the open part of the C on the clip is where the handle extends, (as seen in the video) but if a PO took the handle off previously and wasn't careful when reinstalling the clip, you may have to feel around or try different areas around the circumference of the handle to get the clip out. Ask me how I know! Good luck.

There’s a clip in the window crank. If you push the door panel in around the crank it’ll expose the clip. If you have needle nose pliers or even a small screwdriver you could pop it out.

Get the tool. It's cheap and using a screwdriver is a drag.

Agreed. I did it all the hard ways, and then I bought the tool. So much easier.

There’s a really easy way to do this. Use a thin rag like a cut up T-Shirt and move it back and forth like a saw. I’ve done this multiple times in many different cars with great results.

Do yourself a favor and go get a multi use trim tool at oriellys or somewhere. Makes it so easy to take the door panels off and get all the stuff pulled w/o breaking anything either

Trying to get my crank off... tried the rag method, doesn't seem to be doing anything. Honestly I don't see any clip behind the crank, if I sort of bend it back I can clearly see the space between it and the door panel, and there's nothing there... Is it attached right up against the back of the crank so I can't see it? How would sliding a rag behind it do anything if its flush up against the back of the crank.

Your local dealer will have them or even a better alternative. They have ones with foam padding on them to decrease vibration. I just got some of the same ish type.

You have to do a sawing motion like you’re cutting a log. It’s okay to do it aggressively.

Just buy a pack from Amazon. Panel clips really haven’t changed in the last 25 years. I used the panel clip from a 1995 Tacoma in a 2017 Nissan 370z.

if you’re not able to get it I would highly recommend buying a trim tool. You can get them for like 8$ at O’Reillys. Makes it so easy you can get the door panel off in less then 5 minutes

I got this from Amazon. I use these all the time. They help with headlight retros too.

I was able to get it off but turns out it wasn't the OEM plastic ring type clip it was a metal clip, I used a coathanger to snag it out like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozt6dlK9h9Y

I had my door handle replaced a while ago and the mechanic probably lost or broke the plastic clip so he just put one of the metal type clips in there when he put it back together.
