Removing Chrome Accents Around Air Vents

These things drive me nuts because they create distracting oval shaped reflections in the side view mirrors. What are people doing to correct this? Thanks for the help.

I plasti dip sprayed mine- 3 come off easy and the last I made sure to tape and paper off to ensure no over spray.

 

Nicely done! That had to be an exercise in patience for sure!

 

Did the color matched AJT Designs dash kit and got rid of the chrome rings.
The full kit does take some time to install as mentioned above, the dash has to come off, but it is not really that difficult, and took me about and hour or hour and a half.
Definitely worth it!

I like the looks of the Mejiao covers. I would prefer not to take apart my dash any. Are these fairly easy to install correctly?

 

Yes. They just adhere with double sided tape. It doesn’t require any disassembly.

 

Nice to see the only chrome parts in questions are the vents. The vents are a gateway starter

 

I also painted, watched an ajt video to see how he disassembled them.

 

I got a set of vent rings from Meso, in black, and painted them Magnetic Gray Metallic. I also got the door handle overlays from Meso, the steering wheel emblem overlay from AJT, RAV4 radio knobs, and the driver's side grab handle from KTJO. No chrome at all left in the interior.

Originally bought the MESO's but wasn't happy with the fitment, ended up dechroming my stocks in a bleach bath and repainting MGM along with a bunch of other trim pieces.
