I'm looking at replacing the brake pads on 2003 Tacoma fwd with a 5 lug nut wheel. Looking at the caliper I can see that the top removal bolt is blocked by the brake fluid line. Is it possible to just loosen the top bolt ( 14 or 17 mm i assume) remove the bottom bolt and use the in place top bolt like a hinge so as to lift the caliper and remove the brake pads. I don't feel like bleeding brake lines. Thx!

I don't know aboutb5 lug trucks, but 6 lug trucks all need to do is remove the pins. No bleeding is required.

Only time you may need to bleed brakes is if you open the closed brake fluid system. You typically do not need to open any fittings or bolts that deal with brake fluid to just replace the pads. Or to do new rotors either. You just need to be able to compress the caliper piston/s back into the caliper.

As crow stated, your truck is FWD. There is no such thing as a front wheel drive Tacoma.
