    Hello Everyone,

I have back issues and I'm not strong enough to manhandle my truck's bed cover so I tried to use two bike lift sets that I bought from Harbor Freight for $8.99 each. It worked well but removing it isn't as easy as I first imagined. I do like using it and It gets easier with time.

I did this so I do not have to ask anyone's help.

I am quite sure that someone has done something like this already, but I couldn't find it when searching for "removing bed cover by one person".

Anyways, I wanted to share this to others.

    Thanks

Completely awesome! I'm sure these are strong enough to rig them up for a camper shell?

That's pretty slick. A good friend has a similar set up to store the top of his Jeep. Awesome job man.

How heavy is your camper shell? Because I am not 100% sure, I just treated each cheap bike lift set to handle the same weight as one bike, which made lifting the roughly 60+lb bed cover seem within limits. A camper shell may need a better lift set than what I used,... I believe my set up could safely lift a maximum of 150lbs. If it was a top of the line model, I would say 300lbs, but I bought it from harbor freight so I cut that in half. It was made in China, using questionable rivets and the nylon rope they used was low grade. It was still good enough for my bed cover.

If it was much heavier, I would have used more (4 instead of 2 sets).
