Can’t find info on releasing this collar (?) on the fuel fill.
Everything in the Internet just says take off the cap, push on the fill tube. Not the case.

It pops through into the bedside, that donut gasket will stay on the bedside IIRC. There's no clips or bolts to remove it just pops out.

Thanks. There are two pieces here the soft rubber (demonstrated with the screwdriver) ANA a hard plastic piece that’s between the rubber and the mouth of tube. The flared/fluted metal tube end can’t get through the hard plastic ring.
I have a feeling that this model (2015 TRD) needs to be disconnected from the tank then, pulled outward. ?????????

This might help show the two different pieces. I just can’t see how the herd plastic ring could slide over the flared/fluted metal part.

(quick backstory: truck was hit when parked. Insurance couldn’t find a replacement frame so they totaled it. Drives fine, the bent parts are all behind the rear spring mounts. I’m hoping to do a flatbed.)

Maybe some lubrication around the parts would help.

Anyone? Doesn’t look like it just pushes through with the plastic collar. Wondering if 12-15s are different than previous years

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)
Looks kinda crusty. Did you take a pick or small screwdriver and work it around between the rubber and plastic rings? Could just be gunked up/stuck to each other and not want to slip enough to pop through. couple shots of PB Blaster and some massaging should free it right up

I had pretty much lost daylight by the time i got into the gas filler part so honestly i didnt get much time to mess with it.
Everything that i had seen online was a simple “push it though “. Came across this thread and it seems like that plastic looking collar needs to pop off. Thought maybe someone could confirm

Following. Anyone figure this out? My 08 has the same filler neck design shown above and it doesn’t look like it just “pops out,”. Any help would be appreciated.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Mine is a 2014, you literally remove the cap then pull the bed off. The filler neck drops right through. Can’t confirm everything for other second gen years.

I think what you are missing is that the Hard Plastic Piece stays on the filler neck and it will pop through the Soft Rubber Grommet that stays on the bedside.

If I remember correctly you wont be able to push the filler neck into the bed with the bed bolted in. The rubber hoses are after the filler neck mount.
If you pull the bed bolts and lift up on the bed it'll pop right through. You can lift it by hand.

This is a 2011 so just another point that its all the same through all the 2nd gen years
