So what should I do to mine which hasn't been molested yet?
Thoughts before I clean it or take it in for service?

I purchased a 2016 TRD Sport and one of the first things I noticed on the test drive was how scratched up the cluster lens was. I ordered a new one from TRDShop.com for $23 plus $10 shipping. After receiving the lens, I took it to Clear Bra Indy to have them apply clear bra over the lens. For whatever reason, they did not want to put clear bra on it but for $20, they said they could put a coating of Ceramic Pro on it. Ceramic Pro is basically like liquid glass. After allowing the Ceramic coating to cure for three days, I wiped the lens with a micro fiber towel and it didn’t scratch. I proceeded to install it and it looks great!

Here is the link to the new $23 cluster from TRDShop.com

As with any surface dont rub it with anything dry.. Dry dust is what scratches it..

Never Never Modify! Keep it aggravation free!
I made a big mistake with my 09. I used a cleaner from chemical guys that was supposed to be for all dash surfaces. It made the lenses cloudy. Big mistake! On my new truck I now slightly dampen a microfiber towel with water and go over it gentley. I'll keep an eye out since many say the microfiber scratches it.

I hope Toyota updates their material on the model refresh, so later on, I can purchase one. I'm seeing light scratches already.

mines all scratched up as well, will have to buy a new one soon. If i cant use a microfiber on it, how do you clean it? In the meantime, is there no products that could clear some of the scratches?

I used Griot's Plastic Polish. It worked really well. I found it much simpler to remove the trim (orange or silver) first.

When I bought the truck new, I told the dealer "dont touch it" as in the entire car, I would detail it.
Then, I never touched the plastic yet it was still scratched in the sunlight.
I then used camera glass cleaner spray and a lens wipe and it scratched it more.
At this point my only recourse is Plastic Polish which I hear works well.

The lens film cover actually hides a lot of the small scratches, and mine still works very well since my original post here.

Make sure to pull up the trim piece so you have extra room to work with and that the lens is very clean before you apply the plastic cover. Also sit quietly in the truck, have the windows closed and do not run the vents for a minute or so before you clean the lens and apply the film to let any dust settle, that will help keep everything clean as you apply the lens cover.

I’ve heard a little WD40 on a qtip or cotton swab will take out the scratches.

I used this cleaner/polish. It’s safe on all types of plastics. I wipe dry with lens cloth. Avoid using a microfiber towel B7A668F5-C571-4268-BF95-30952791199B.jpg
