Hey guys! Just hoping to get some feedback from current 3G owners w/ the push start ignition system. (normal key start trucks wouldn't apply)

    1. For those of you that currently HAVE a remote start installed, whether it is ours or another company. We know most of you don't like it shutting down when entering, but being you already have one installed, would you go consider purchasing another kit and replacing the one you already have, or would you most likely just keep it as is? The new kit would cost a bit more, and the install would be a bit more involved vs the one you have now.

    2. For those of you that currently DO NOT have a remote start installed. If 2 kits were offered for your vehicle, would you buy the cheaper/easier to install/shutdown when opening a door, or go for the more expensive/more involved install/no shutdown when opening a door?

Thanks for any input we appreciate it!

Find me the one that doesn't shut the truck off when the door is opened and I would upgrade in a second.

Ideally as long as it’s plug and play, and reliable I’m down. I have N2 remote start and it’s been good, but I’d upgrade in a second if it means my truck doesn’t shut off and I can hop in and just drive. I’d pay more to not have it shut off when opening door. Straight up.

    This is what I fear.
For me, it would take a plug-n-play install, with the stellar reviews of many (hundreds or even thousands) of users, over the course of several years of use.

It's Risk v Reward for me. I am not willing to pay out a bunch or hack in to my truck's wiring (IF that's what it needs) to keep the engine running when I open the door. Gas ain't getting any cheaper these days.
No offense, but given this has been attempted and not defeated over the years; I am skeptical, as I am thinking the intrusiveness and workarounds to pull it off.

having the truck turn off when opening the door is why im still hesitant on getting it for my dads truck
i would pay more for the kit as long as its still plug and play. no cutting/splicing

i just bought a kit for my 07 tacoma and im so glad the engine stays on when opening the door

Already have one installed and likely would not purchase another one, but I’m very interested and would spend a little extra for one that stays on for my next truck.
As has been discussed at length, it’s crazy that no one has been able to crack this problem. My wife’s Honda accord- from the factory, just put your foot on the brake and press the start button. Engine stays on.

I don't have an exact release date or pricing at the moment so there is nothing to find YET unfortunately...

We expect the new '24 Tacoma to have normal takeover like our kits for the new Tundra, Sienna, RAV4, Corolla Cross etc so going forward it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Thanks for the feedback so far we appreciate it and hopefully we can make this a reality for you guys sooner rather than later!

It would depend how much more involved the install becomes. If I have to start cutting and splicing factory wiring, I'm out.

It is such a minor inconvenience I would not be inclined to spend extra money or effort.

I have a 18 and installed a start-x remote, distance sucks but better than none at all.
A plug and play that does not shutdown would be worth it.

Having the engine turn off every time u open the door isn't good for the battery and starter

Considering how often I use the remote start, I'm sure it'll be fine. The door only turns off the engine when the remote start is used, not *every* time the door is opened.

i never saw a need for remote start, just get in, drive, and wait for the ac or heat to do its thing......in 5 years we will all be in electric cars

I have an N2 and it’s worked flawlessly. However, I would consider upgrading depending on the amount of hacking and price. I’m sure I could get a few bucks for my existing system to offset the cost.

I use it everyday and love it. Is it kinda inconvenient when it turns off yes but I think it's worth the money.

Those have different starters and alternators than non-start-stop cars tho.

Try turning off the ignition and going on short drives...you'll kill your battery
