Got mine today, looks great, can wait to program it.

The only thing that would make it better is if it had a super bright little Photon button light built into the backside. I think there's plenty of space in there for it!

Programmed, took minutes to do two keys. Now just need to get them cut and I'm all set.

How did you program them without having them cut?
Part of the programming is turning the ignition with the new key in it right?

I used my old key to turn the ignition. You only need the key to get into programming mode. Then use your new key fob to perform the remote functions.

I did this so that I could make sure that I could program the new fob before actually spending the time and money to cut it.

Got my keys cut today. Local ACE hardware wouldn't cut them cause they couldn't replace my keys if they accidentally messed up. Even after I asked for them to cut one key first and to let me test it out before cutting my second key.

Ended up going to Home Depot, cut the first key and was able to test it on the door locks and ignition before cutting the second key. After both were cut, the guy helping me said that I was "good to go" and didn't even charge me for his services. ACE hardware not wanting to do it for $3.50 per key turned out to be a good thing for me.

Haha you tell me! Since the key is oriented 90 degrees opposite the way the normal key is with the way you grip it and the way the key blade is situated, it was a common problem for me (unless of course the ignition was reoriented properly to account for this)

That's weird, my local Ace cut mine for me yesterday and said "have a great day", I asked how much and they said " nothing, come back and buy something later "!

I should have been more specific...the guy helping me was willing to do it and was very nice, but his "new" manager wouldn't let him. It's all good though, keys are cut and they work. Glad you had a better experience with ACE than I did.

Look at #19 on my site... None of the 00-04 tacomas use a 4c chip.

I could never get my truck to go into programming mode after about 5 tries..... Does this mean that my truck isn't capable of doing it or am I doing something wrong? Such as not opening the door all the way, or doing the motions too quick, or something else....?

Im not sure how long this guy is going to keep selling these. Last I read was that he was selling his remaining stock and that was it.

I believe that was referring to how he was going to be selling them, but I could be wrong.

Last I'd read from him is that there were so many problems with people not following directions on how to program the keys, that he was going to have deals setup with shops and would sell the key directly to them, so the end user always got a properly programmed key and his support time wasn't being filled with the same questions that are already answered.

Added this here for folks stumbling across the thread. Not seeing them on ebay anymore which likely means no more left.
