Random thought...you ever misplace the TV remote for today's technical marvels, and it takes 30+ mins to figure out where the tiny black camo buttons are to just turn it on?

Until 11AM. That's when wrestling came on. Then I'd get on the bike, go to the local plaza. Buy the latest BMX magazines, have lunch at the local family owned pizzeria, and shop.

This is why I bought a small holder for all mine. To be fair I do have a few different remotes in the living room.

In 2022 dollars this would be almost $3800.

Note that the guy using the phone is standing in front of a Lear Jet. That's how rich you had to be to afford one.

 

I don't remember what the first cellphone cost that I bought for my wife in 1993 (she got one long before I did). But I do recall the cost of the cell service at the time being $100 per month for 50 minutes of voice... and voice was the only service offered.

My mom used to save the wooden paddles that had the ball attached to the rubber band when the band broke. Kept them on top of the fridge. She popped me with one one day and it split in half. I laughed. She said wait until your dad gets home. He didn’t use the paddle, I can still hear his belt clearing the loops.
