is it possible to convert an 05 regular cab into an extended cab by welding an extra back part to make it an extended cab? The reason why I am asking is because I have an 05 regular cab and want to sit more than 2 people comfortably.

It'd take a significant amount of body work if you were to do it that way but, with enough time, money and knowhow, anything's possible. It'd probably be a hell of a lot easier to swap cabs with an access cab and bob the bed. It's easier still to trade in for the truck you want.

the regular to extra cab modification will not add any doors into it. Still possible? it would be welding a custom built back part of an extra cab body to the back of the existing regular cab.

You could swap a new cab on and then bob the bed.

If your goal is to sit more than 2 people comfortably you should look at a double cab.

Looks horrible IMO , you'll probably end up spending more cash then just selling yours and getting a used extended cab
