I have a '09 regular cab Taco and wanted to have a bit more storage room. I'm getting a cab-high cap for my truck soon and was wondering if I could get something like a prinsu rack that goes from the cab to the back of the cap. I've seen plenty of double cab guys do it, but haven't seen it done on a reg cab. Sorry if the answer is already out there, I've searched but haven't found any definitive answers. Thanks!

Wow... thats perfect! I guess I'm really hesitant to go drilling into my baby but that's exactly what I had imagined. I'm sure with some slight modifications it wouldn't be hard to extend it over a cap. Do you have any leaks after drilling holes? Appreciate it!

No leaks! You will want a separate rack on top of the bed because the bed and cab will flex differently. Mine is a Hooke Road rack which I modified. You could do the same and get a second one to mount on the cap?

Honestly install was stressful but I took my time and it came out great.

That's a good point, but I'm sure it would be pretty easy to just get one that goes on the cap and make it the same height as the cab. Ive seen plenty of double cabs with the rack over the cap as well, ill just see what i can find there.

Wait, you want one roof rack going between the cab of the truck and the cap? Can't say that I would recommend that...

Well that was my original thought but i now realize that wouldnt be the brightest idea... I think ill do seperate racks, one on the cap and one on the cab, and make them the same height.

Pretty cool lots of folks are cutting them down to size. Were you ever able to determine if the curve of the roof was gonna be a problem?

Good point, may not be much of a market for cut-down racks. still, 669 for a prinsu is absolutely ridiculous. I wouldnt buy one even if they were 300, i cant bring myself to drill holes.. already had to replace my carpet once because the roof was leaking
