Just some information for the next guy who's looking for Intel on installing this unit.

    2021 Trd Offroad.

I mounted the controller to the side of a black electrical unit above the left side kick panel above the fuse box. Using mounting tape (lowes/home depot carries it where you find duct tape). This same black box is mounted to a metal mount. The upper bolt is a perfect ground to attach to. (picture is before I attached the ground)

    Pictures attached.

    Have fun!

Looks good. Mostly the same as how I set up my tow pro liberty. I used a ground bolt that was behind the kick panel that already had been in use, just added the wire to it and put the nut back on. That spot you picked I'm sure is good too.

No I don't have that black box. I just have the fuse panel your black box is mounted over. The brake controller box can be mounted with the same mounting tape there too since it's an open flat spot in mine.

Not sure what the extra black box is that you have. Could be for crawl control or the inverter or something for the bed outlet maybe. SR5 does not have those things.

Did you have any issues inserting the "remote head bezel" (that gray ring)? I bought Redarc switch insert and the bezel has a "collar" at the small hole (where the LED light is)-it doesn't fit in the switch insert hole, which is too small...unnamed_LI.jpg

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
The white "bezel" is to be used when you drill a hole thru your dash to mount the remote. If you're using the Tacoma insert the white bezel is not used. Note the instruction (Step 2 for my Liberty model) that says the bezel is optional.

As already mentioned, not needed if you use the insert provided. I paid for the new 3rd gen insert, the universal that goes with the kit wont fit new tacos. fyi

i couldn’t get it to work either and Redarc told me not to use it when you buy the pre built switch plug.
