So it's near my Birthday and my family got me about $100 for ebay gift certificate money. I'm looking at adding $40 and getting a Bubba rope. I was wondering what you guys think? I keep seeing people suggesting 20 or 30ft. Also what weight rating is good for a 2nd gen use?

I looking at boards and other stuff later. What other stuff do you suggest?

Quality shackles and I would get a good kinetic rope.

Yes I know but I watched a review on Matt's offroad recovery and they compared the 2. Arb needed to be replaced much sooner.

    Go old school.

2000 lb tensile strength rope, 2 dual sheave block and tackle, 10,000 lb hooks (2).

Tie off to the truck and deadman with the hooks, lace up the block and tackle with the rope. Pull on the loose end. You probably won't need a winch.

Lace the rope correctly, you could get 5 parts of line pulling. You have potential pull strength of 10,000 lbs.

I find traction boards to be much more useful than a snatch strap, but that is because I often roll solo. I've run into people out in the middle of nowhere with their vehicle in a ditch and a snatch strap attached to their bumper, waiting for someone to come along for a tug.
Speaking of come along, those are also very helpful in solo recovery when you can't afford or use a winch.

Good points. I often roll solo or with my wife. As I don't know many offroad people. As much of my car stuff is all about the older wrx crowd. I do have a come along. but I have plans to get a bumpers and winch. but I need suspension first. Working on getting the rest of my skid plates soon.

Get Sliders first!!!! buy an air compressor and air down before you get stuck, cheap shovel, traction boards (if solo), you also need to replace the transport Hook on the front if you don't have a bumper with pull points, and get the hitch D-ring for the back if you don't have aftermarket bumpers. Do hitch plug relocation if you haven't torn it off already. Depending on your load snatch strap are less $$ or kinetic rope of at least 7/8 and to get the most snap energy get a 30 footer. My fully outfitted rig is heavier than yours will be so you shouldn't have to go larger than 7/8 on the kinetic strap. couple of D-rings and/or soft shackles.

I’ve been searching online to back my claim of 12k lbs but can’t find anything to prove it. I’ll just say that I would trust it to pull my truck out and it really is bad ass rope

I'd get the highlift extreme jack, it comes with an extra piece for putting a shackle on each end, then grab some rope, you got yourself a budget winch, add some more rope and some sheaves and you got yourself an even better winch.

A lot of times you can get yourself unstuck solo by just lifting the truck and stacking under the tires, done this many a time.

    $100 well spent.

    https://www.amazon.com/Hi-Lift-Jack...extreme+jack&qid=1601283580&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1

A $20 mini D handle shovel has also saved me a lot of headache.

Ultimately the best and cheapest recovery related thing you can get is knowledge, watch a bunch of videos on youtube, know how and when to use your gear safely and learn through experience when you can.

I’ve tried. Thing is where I go on the beach I usually go alone so I try to be smart. But then I pass people that aren’t familiar with that beach and are stuck. There’s no cell phone signal or any connection otherwise so I feel obliged to help. My little truck made me so proud one day I pulled a four door Chevrolet diesel off it’s axles one day. I’ve been driving that beach since I was 14 I’m 41 now

Ah beach driving yeah, so long as you air down and understand driving sand and can read the soggy line you good.

I never pulled nothing off it's axles but I did yank an old Ford Excursion (Big long boi) out of a ditch with my '00 4Runner, had to throw everything at it, 4 Low and Locked but it is a heck of a warm proud feeling I get ya!

You should try some trails some time get yourself good n stuck!
