Hello, I'm looking for type 168 red led bulbs for my first gen Tacoma. I know some bulbs are better left on or only on for a brief while and some bulbs are made to light on and off such as when used for braking. I've seen several brands and they all say interior leg lamp bulbs, dome light bulbs, plate light bulbs, etc. I want to buy some that are designed for braking application. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Stock. EZ pass.Dump pass.Inspection sticker.Convict printed lic.plates.FG cap.
OEM taillight assembly won't take LEDs and if you swap to LED aftermarket taillights they won't pass State safety inspection.

It's for the third brake light brake light that's at the top of the cab on the rear. It can take the wedge style 168 or 194 bulbs. It's not a running light, just the third brake light that is only on when the brake peddle is depressed.

The 3rd brake light lens is Red.
Why do you need a red LED bulb ?

So that it looks better and a brighter red color. With 6k white bulbs in there it's not as intense. I found some Yorkin brand bulbs on Amazon. I've had good experiences with them in the past.

Use the sylvanias, they will be brighter, either white or red.
And will accomplish a brighter 3rd brake light. (The lens is red obviously so you don’t really need a red bulb and is the same price as the whites) You are probably wanting it for safety/ more noticeable because the stock is fairly dim.
    It works
