What's your recommendation on a reliable propane camping stove? What are you using?

I'm considering a stansport 2 burner or even one of those mini ovens with 2 burner range.

Most less expensive 2-burners suck to actually cook with unless you want to boil water or char a steak. This is due to the gas valves only having a few turns from closed to 100% open.

I highly recommend a 2-burner with good valves like the (overpriced) JetBoil Genesis https://jetboil.johnsonoutdoors.com/stoves-systems/genesis-basecamp-stove

Or the Eureka! Ignite series stove (there are two sizes).

    Stock for now.. maybe
Coleman 2 burner is a stove that's been around for many years. I still use the one my dad purchased when he was young. Im not sure if the quality has changed... im sure like anything its not like it used to be but I'm sure quality is still better than most.

Edit- the coleman still works amazing. I also have a one burner coleman that I've had 15 or so years and works great. If im going backpacking I use some small and lightweight made for backpacking but it doesn't sound like thats what you're looking for. Keep in mind some of these super expensive models people buy (MSR, jet boil) are great but you also pay for the name and prestige. Im not sure if anyone has taken a coleman to the top of everest or K2 if you know what i mean

Using like a 30 yr old Coleman 2 burner camp stove and it's never let me down, I just refill the lil propane tanks when needed off of my bbq tank at home and get new lil tanks every few years or so.

Also why is this in 2nd gen section?

    Thanks I'll check it out

Right on, we were leaning towards a coleman as well. Good to hear they last a good while.

Ya, just camping out of the truck. No backpacking. We just need something that will get us through a couple of days/nights. We are slowly building up our camping gear. Finding out what we need and don't. We're not the glamor camper type :D

    Thanks for the info

    Good to know. Thanks

What's wrong with asking in the 2nd gen section? I own a 2nd gen. I have a question for my 2nd gen. I'm not aware of a camping section for camping Q&A's. If there is, please point me in that direction and I'll pack up my thread and head over there :D

Top of my skull the Coleman I have is about 25 years old. I have a Coleman stove as well.

The Coleman is an excellent option ! we have one of them, also a Baby Weber and a couple MSR stoves as well.

This however is our latest multi fuel stove stove, excellent quality and my wife Loves it too

There are more than a few videos about this setup out there....

    Bon Appetite !

Nice, the consensus seems to be leaning towards coleman. That's probably what will be the purchase.

What's the better way to go, burner/griddle or double burner?

Double burner. Then just buy a separate griddle if you want to, season it up and use it

I had an older white gas Coleman... loved it. But I’m currently rocking a two burner camp chef. It is heavy though and doesn’t make a good choice for packing light...

That's what we did. More choices and takes a few seconds to toss the griddle on the top

Also still using a Coleman that we've had for 20 plus years, 2 burner w/griddle
    works great!!

it does pretty good. Haha. I bought the full sized professional griddle for it. But mostly use my cast iron directly on the burners

Right on! I'll definitely be going your route. Who makes the griddle? Camp chef? That picture is making me hungry :D
