Just ordered a Victory 4x4 front bumper and would love to hear folks' recommendations on LED light pods.

These light pods will be replacing my factory fog lights and will be wired to the factory harness. Victory says any 3x3 pod should be compatible with their mounting slots. They've got 2 options on their site - a generic unbranded option for $150 and BAJA designs Squadron LEDs for $210. Ideally I'd do something a bit cheaper. I'm looking at Cali Raised LED ($80 per pair) but their pods are 3x2 and I don't know if the gap between the light and bumper will create a lot of noise or look odd.

I would spend the extra money. I have the caliraised and they're not very good. Better than stock but I don't recommend.

No problem. If you are buying fog lights to use on the street, then you need SAE ones.

I would probably try to squeeze some DD pods in there, but the square rigids are nice too. Just depends how much you wanna spend. Remember: buy nice or buy twice.

make sure you hit up @memario1214 he can get you a good deal on DD, Rigid, Baja Designs, or really any major brand.

@AmericanDrug Thanks for the feedback on the Cali Raised LEDs. Sounds like it's best to look elsewhere.

@SearArtist Thanks again for the recommendations. I'd much rather buy something once and be done with it. That being said the only Rigid lights are either kits, including hardware I don't need, or are top of the line pods coming in over $400. Do you have recommendations on any specific rigid models that don't break the bank? Or, any specific recommendations on DD models? I didn't see any mentioned in the first couple of pages of the thread you shared.

If I do go that route, which I most likely will, I'll be sure to hit up @memario1214.

You're quick! Thanks! The DSD SS3 seems to hit the mark.

We haven't fit the DD's in our bumpers yet, but they look adjustable enough to work fine. I switched my truck over to BD Squadron Sports in amber driving/combo recently and they are great as always. Lots of good options out there.

@monkeyevil Always good to hear from the man himself! Glad to know you think the DDs should work.

Are the BD Squadron Sports SAE certified? Considering the lackluster performance of the stock headlights I end up driving with the fog lights on regularly. I want to make sure whatever lights I end up getting are safe to use on-road as well as off-road.

We don't have them listed on our site, but SAE @Baja Designs lights are available, check out https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/Squadron-SAE-Pair-LED-Wide-Cornering.asp and https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/Squadron-SAE-Pair-LED-Wide-Cornering-Amber.asp

Obviously you are going to be giving up output for these over a standard Squadron, so I would pair them with a 20" Driving/Combo or Spot bar for offroad, really depends on how much ass you plan on hauling :D

Thanks @monkeyevil ! Considering the price point I'll probably stick with the DD SS3 route. Down the road I'll explore light bars for better off-road performance.

Got the new bumper and lights installed. Loving the setup so far! One thing I noticed is the DD SS3 lights sit pretty far back in the bumper, like 1-2". Anyone know if is this normal for Victory 4x4 bumpers? It feels like part of the beam better is getting blocked by the bumper itself. I mounted the lights as far forward on the tab as it would allow, so I'm wondering if I should be looking for some other mounting hardware to get the light forward a bit more, or if the bumper isn't actually blocking the light and leave it as is.

You can try flipping the mounting brackets to see if that gains you any. We recently added a longer slot to all of our bumpers to easily accommodate more brands of lights. That said, my BDs sit back slightly and it doesn't seem to affect light output much with the combo pattern.

The other thing you can try with the flipped brackets is drilling a hole here...

Good suggestion @monkeyevil I might give the drilling solution a whirl. The DDs weren't able to be aimed properly with the bracket flipped (pointed too high up), so I ended leaving them in the standard position but placing the bracket on the underside of the mounting tab to get the height setup correctly.

Drilling out the back of the DD bracket seemed to do the trick. The light now sits much further up and wayyyyy less light is blocked by the bumper.
