I am looking at buying a buying a code error reader to have with me on trips etc and just to know if anything pops up on vehicle, anyone has any good recommendations for one, i am not pro mechanic so dont think i need full suite just something that practical etc.

looked at this one and looks pretty solid but was curious if anyone has suggestions etc or gotchas to watch out for.

    thanks.

I have a blue drive. Works great for reading codes, 02, abs, airbags ect. I highly reccomend you get an all in one, then to avoid screwing yourself for the future and making your life easier, make sure it can read trans temps. My only issue with mine is it doesn't give temps

Yeah I use the WiFi OBD2 adapter to monitor pids, then if I ever need it I'll use techstream

Yep. I have the same one and use an iPhone. Way more useful than my traditional Bosch reader. I just plug it in and leave it on my truck. If any codes are ever triggered, you can simply just check your phone. You can also run data logging, real time gauges ect.

You could also consider a slightly different approach with a scan gauge: https://www.scangauge.com. This offers more function than just a reader and is a really great trip computer as well.

Once you're free month is done and you have the customizations where you want them, the adapter is fully compatible with Torque, OBD Fusion, and others.

Sorry, but . . . those all-in-ones, like you linked, are pre-historic compared.

That adapter plus OBD Fusion with the Toyota PIDs should get you there.

    LED's so far :-/
I have the OBDLink Scanner for Wifi... I started playing with an app called Car Scanner and it's pulling a C0100 and P0152 code...One of these is an Bank2 sensor one high voltage.....Funny thing is, the OBDLink app that came with the Dongle is not pulling any codes..

Also curious how the O2 sensor is starting to fail...

    No Check engine light yet.

I’m in the market for an OBD2 Scan Tool. When I look online there are quite a few choices. I’ve used a couple but can’t recall the brand names or models. I’m not looking to spend more than like $150(less it better). Any suggestions?
