You're talking about the interior recirculate button on the A/C control panel I presume?

What setting do you have it on? Any windshield/defrost positions do not allow the re-circulation option. So switching to these will automatically turn that off.

If you are talking about turning on recirc, and it turns itself back off, you have to hold the button for like 5 seconds to lock it so it stays in recirc. It's in the manual.

Press and hold the recirculate button to keep it on that setting. When the outside air is colder than the inside it cuts off after a period of time to keep the fogging issues at bay.

Holding it down on my drive home did not make it stay on when I switched settings. :notsure:

If you switch to one of the settings that has defrost that turns it off also.

Minor correction, according to pg 247 of the 2013 MY Manual, "Press and hold for longer than 2 seconds."

    +1.

Again, according to pg 247 of the 2013 MY Manual, pressing and holding the Recirc button for longer than 2 seconds "cancels" the (automatic change from recirculated air mode to outside air mode after a few minutes) functionality @jsi described. I don't think it has any impact other than that (e.g., when switching settings).

Ah. Me too was befuddled by this spooky behavior just today. Thank you for un-befuddling me. Yes. Cake is good. Thank you for your time, research, and an explanation I can understand. Whew. What a relief.
