I have used a ton of different rechargeable flashlights at work and for recreation. My two best brand recommendations are Inova or O-Light.

You can’t go wrong with any light from either company.

The best flashlight I’ve ever owned is this one:

I carry a dual-purpose rechargeable flashlight in the truck... works great :)

It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I bought this one from Amazon: DANGEJA Rechargeable Spotlight Super Bright LED Flashlight Outdoor Handheld Spot Light High Lumen 9600mAh Long Lasting Large Torchlight Searchlight Floodlight Hiking Flashlight USB Output (Silver) - - Amazon.com

It's cheap, very bright and spent the summer in my boat without ever being recharged. When I was winterizing my boat a few months later it had just enough juice left for me to get my cover's support poles up.
I use a camera bar clamp in the top screw hole and attach it to a boat rail when tying up after dark. The side light has a broad enough beam pattern to illuminate the dock so I can see both dock cleats which are about 10-12 feed apart.

The spot beam was bright enough for me to see about 75-100 feet through rain when I was checking to see if my powerlines were down during a storm.
Yeah, it has a plastic housing so you're not going to bash heads with it like a Maglite, but mine has survived a four foot drop on to rocks.

I also have a few of the cheap Energizer headlamps. One in my glove box, one in my tackle box, another in my toolbox. I have a nicer Black Diamond storm that I switch between my ski and bike kits each season.
IMO headlamps are the way to go.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    @erwigg:
IMHO MagLites of late have been disappointing. As @Danner488 alluded to, the multi-cell C & D cell Mags are handy self defense lights, but expensive.
Unfortunately many of the less costly China imports have proved to be better.
I have (6) of these scattered around the house and one in my truck:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07788FMYD?ie=UTF8
with a 18650 rechargeable battery (not included)
    Batteries & charger:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZ8Y89F?ie=UTF8
MagLite has lost my loyalty as a result of my experience with the above and the cost differential.

What's your usage? Is it going to be an emergency road side light, a handy light, a work light?

I carry 4 of these. One in each door pocket. Hold a charge for a long time and surprisingly bright!! I didn't get the 18650 battery and just use Amazon branded AAA's in the holder.

Your post made me go check mine. Apparently I keep a nite core MT2A in my center console. Prolly haven't used it in over a year but it still turned right on.

I keep this under the driver seat, works good as a work light and a flash light and I keep it plugged in charging while I drive. I also own other flash lights but use this the most.92FED898-1677-42D9-9D08-FE7F934C6411.jpg

For quick and easy stuff. Plus you can attach it to the brim of a hat. It’s also light and bright enough for most situations. It’s a good all around flashlight. The only down side is on a full charge you only get an hour or so of run time on high.

Streamlight 66608 MicroStream 250-Lumen USB Rechargeable Pocket Flashlight, Clear Retail Packaging, Coyote https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DLZXZV1

This is an excellent choice. It’s extremely bright and the battery lasts for hours. A very solid choice. It’s a bit heavy but that’s thanks to the big battery. I think it’s a 21700 cell if not it’s a 20700. If you want something slightly lighter then the perun 1 is a good choice. It uses a 18650 cell and is much lighter. Like I mentioned it’s a solid choice, very durable and fantastic light output with battery life that will outlast you.

OLIGHT Perun 2 2500 Lumens Rechargeable Headlamp, Multi-Functional Right Angle MCC Waterproof Flashlight with Headband, Perfect for Night Camping, Hiking, Hunting(Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LV6VYYV

These are what I have in my truck. I use them for work in the elevator/escalator trade and they’ve stood up to some decent durability tests for the lack of a better term.
