Ok, so the other day, the temp control knob fell off my dash. When I tried to put it on, it felt loose and did not want to stay. I tried to glue it back, which worked, but the knob would not change the temp of the A/C. I eventually pulled the servo out, and looked at it. It will not hold a position unless I keep pressure. I'll post a video to help explain. My question is this:Could the servo itself be bad, or is the knob messing this up? Thanks!.

Not sure if it will help you. It sounds to me like it worked before you messed with the knob. Now that it's permanently affixed, who knows it the part that turns to control your AC is broken or what. You should feel a slight amount of resistance and some bumps as you're turning the knob. If it feels loose then I would assume something is wrong with the HVAC control unit or the way in which you ghetto-fixed your knob.

Thanks. And I agree, the knob seems to be when this started. But the knob is back off the temp control. I can still turn the part the knob attached to, and it has that "bumpy" feeling. But the servo arm will not move until I turn the temp control counter-clockwise all the way, and hold pressure on it.

Would you kindly remove the all-caps "Please Help!!!" from your title? Those words are reserved for people who are in actual need of emergency help, like stranded in a remote location or like what happened just a few days when a person went missing. Thanks.

Looks to me like its in the a/c controller. Could just be a broken solder joint. You can carefully disassemble it and check the pins of the rheostat for broken solder joints.

And if you don't want to do that, you should be able to get a used HVAC control unit on eBay.

seems odd, yes. does the knob have the metal shim inside still? this is what holds it on the stem and allows it to turn.

can you turn the stem itself and get results (sans knob)?

Yes I can turn the stem with no knob The servo won't adjust until I turn the stem all the way and hold pressure on it
