There are some good peeps here. @7r41lbr34k3r or @MESO might be able to help? You'll at least have to pull the cover off to see how the mirror mounts underneath.

For my 2017 with the riser and being 6ft tall, the RAM ball in my pic is completely hidden and then some with the mirror nearly touching the headliner.

I test drove a 2020 TRD Off Road last week. The first thing I did was move the rearview mirror up. No more blind spot.

Not sure if the mirror is mounted into that black box, or onto the windshield to the left. I don't own a new Tacoma, but doing some digging on options to improve this first.

Sweet. Thanks for these detailed pics. I appreciate it.

Maybe someone will make a mount to raise it even more, but then black box would probably just be in the way. I like how you mounted the go pro and the other thing (what is that). They don't appear to be in your line of sight. Nice.

So my F150 definitely has the same type of mirror height adjustment....I've owned this truck for a year and didn't know that. LOL. Thankfully it was nearly all the way up already. I feel dumb.

    You're welcome.
The Go pro mount came installed from the factory. The other thing is my dash cam.

I meant to ask, is your mirror bracket all the way up in those pics?

Honestly, I am not sure. Once I set it I have not touched it. No one else drives my truck, so everything is set for me and thats it. When we take the Rav4 my wife drives it, that way we dont have to go behind each other and re-position stuff.

I should also add that I have not messed with the sensitivity settings at all. The lane departure seems to not affect steering at all. And I think most importantly, I am not a big tech guy. I was feeling a little overwhelmed listening to the salesman explain all the systems and option during the first test drive I was on. When I picked my truck up, however, the salesman I worked with showed me everything, made it real simple, and I don’t have an honest complaint about any of it.

The lane departure warning is just a warning in the Tacoma, it does not have the steering assist/correction feature.
I was a little hesitant when I bought my truck and the first week I kept everything turned off. Then little by little I started seeing what it was all about. Now, I leave everything on. I have had the collision warning engage on me when someone cut me off. I really haven't used the auto high beams becasue I don't drive in the dark very much, and if I do its in the city so low beams are on anyway.

Auto high beams I use almost daily. My daily commute is nice twisty backroads that are poorly lit.

Works pretty well? I disabled it on my F150 because it didn't work as I would like, plus my LED high beams create MEGA glare when any reflective road signs are present.

The auto high beams work fantastic for me. Definately some glare on signs, but a lot of installers don't follow the specs when putting them in lol. (I believe angled away about 3deg, I see a lot of people just make em flush, which is terrible for glare)

Im either a terrible driver, or the lane departure is too sensitive, its annoying as hell so I turn it off. To be fair, I will get my caster increased when I get around to an alignment.

Why is it so easy to crack the windshield when installing the riser? Over- tightening the set screw?
