Rear Spring Leaf TSB Help.

Help gentlemans, I have attached some photos of a TSB done in my truck, the rear leaf spring / harsh ride, please take a good look of it and let me know if this is correct, this is a 2008 TRD Sport 4x4 Tacoma. The photos include the actual driver's side rear leaf spring and the label affixed to it where the part number shows 48220-04190 and this number appears on the TSB documents as the old one (installed) not the new part number (to be installed - 48220-04210 LH).

 

I see three leafs, not four.

I think the TSB calls for four.

 

I have 3 long leafs and one short one.

 

Yes, that is the correct one as I understood it, I do have after the "TSB", the same 3 long leafs, no 4th short one.

 

I may be wrong but it appears that they ordered the wrong spring and have installed it. Thats the same part number as your old spring. The new one should be a 4leaf part number 48220-4210. On the TSB it list the previous part number (your old spring) and also the current part number inwhich they should of ordered. I would go back to them with a copy of the TSB ans ask them about it.

 

See these photos for my 07 TRD 4x4 Sport. You should have gotten FOUR (4) leaves, not three !! Your dealership screwed up. Go get it rectified !!!

 

From those Khfactor pictures and from second page on the TSB document is from where I notice and confirm that this was not a correct TSB done on my truck. Those khfactor pictures are great. And one of my questions was on that second page table where the part numbers are: "previous" and "current" it confusing to understand based on what they mean, but definitely they installed a new part of the OLD affected one.

I will call them and show them both: that label affixed to the rear spring leaf and the invoice (with no charge) they printed when the truck was delivered.
