    Hello!

I am going to replace the JBLs in the rear (double cab) and went to Crutchfield (All Car Speakers at Crutchfield) and am confused. The speaker sizes vary from 6.5 to 6.75. Does that mean either size will fit or is the site confused on what the size should be?

    Thanks in advance!

Replaced mine with 6.5 and not worth the upgrade. Dash and front door speakers make a difference.

    Thanks all!!

I know the rears (and fronts) are lame (even JBL) but bought a set of speakers (came with 2 6x9 / 2 6x5 in one box) so will install the rear speakers but just wanted to make sure the sizing is ok.

Depending on construction, you may need an adapter to fit those 6.5s in the rear.

There's a parts list, including the adapters, in the spoiler link found here.

The rear JBL's are tiny, something like 2.5" speakers. They didn't completely re-engineer the truck to run them though, just made different brackets to hold them. I have seen a few guys upgrade them to larger JBL's with the standard rear Tacoma/Toyota 3-hole brackets without issues as far as I can tell and they seem to appreciate swapping them out. JBL runs weird ohmage so their other speakers play nice with the JBL system from what I've seen.

    EDIT:
Link from Ryan is the thread I've seen. That should be what you're looking for.
