The storage underneath the rear seats is terrible. The only solution I can find is a full rear seat delete but I like having rear seats as an option. Is there a way to delete the storage underneath the rear seats completely or better storage options. Any ideas? Looking to store a rifle out of plain view because of smash and grabs.

in before everyone debates whether or not you should keep a rifle in the truck, and probably not address the storage question :anonymous:

I think the storage capacity underneath and behind the rear seats is actually quite good for basic stuff. I keep all my bug out bags and other emergency supplies behind and under the seats and I have quite a bit of stuff there. Your challenge is unique in that that you are wanting to store a long gun under there which I get. Not sure what the answer is for your gun storage need, but saying that the back seat storage is terrible is a bit off IMO.

Yes the plastic bins under the rear seats can be removed. Not that hard.

It’s plastic and pops out. Could be a frame piece you may need to adapt. Or hump. I only have tools and audio equipment but I recall pulling it apart to run wires.

Did someone make a seat modification to store firearms in the rear seats? Anyone still have the links?

So let me try to understand. You're looking for a place to store a weapon unattended in your vehicle. And you're hoping that someone won't get in there and take it? Is that a correct assumption?

    Oh look, another mod....

You can try this route, it's pricey though: https://www.bossstrongbox.com/vehicle-gun-storage

I get where you're going with this. I would never store one of my weapons in my truck unattended. Ever. I keep them on my person at all times.

I don't know how you manage that. I have a CCW and there are plenty of places you aren't allowed to bring your weapon in (Federal buildings, courts, etc)

Besides worst case scenario someone breaks in and steals your gun. A police report and $600 later you are up and running again. A Pistol inside is probably the least expensive accessory in my truck.

I manage that because I keep my weapons at home 98% of the time. I only carry them with me when I'm going hunting, to the range or to a place that I know allows concealed or open carry. I live in Texas, and we can carry our weapons just about anywhere.

The point I was trying to make was: I never leave my weapon in an unattended vehicle unless absolutely necessary.

Unless Your weapon was stolen out of your vehicle and was used in a crime. In which the registered owner, which would be you, could be easily hemmed up for being an irresponsible owner of said weapon.
