Since deciding on rebuilding my bed storage/sleeping platform and getting a fridge I was intent on putting the fridge in the rear -- though quickly realized that would significantly cut down on my storage space, and bigger issue -- sleeping space since I typically go camping with my GF.

Although it'd be nice to have 3 rear seats...reality is I think I've only had more than 2 passengers in my truck on 2 occasions in over 30k miles.

Hence, pulling out the rear seats and building a quick storage platform. I used the existing hardware that the seatbacks use to fold as an anchor point (it also doubles by allowing access to the under seat compartment). I then made 2 supports with 2x4 (one in center and one on side). I made these supports positioned directly in front of where the stock seats bolt in (so I can rig something up to secure this more heavily if need be). I did this in an afternoon with scrap wood and hardware I had lying around.

Last pic is my Dometic 75DZ, brand new (for sale: Brand New Dometic CFX-75DZ + Slide + Cover ) -- if I want to use a fridge slide I'm going to need a narrower fridge to accommodate the fact that the door doesn't open fully to 90 degrees relative to the body.

UPDATE 7/2/18 -- since having this several days, i've realized that even more than before i will need to apply dynamt or similar to the entire cab -- removing the seats there is much more road noise than before as the seats aren't deadening/absorbing that sound anymore

fridge is great -- i just messed up on measurements and in this new location where the fridge will reside the 75 is too wide to work with a slide since door doesn't open wide enough. i'll see how much i mind hoping in the back to access fridge though will likely sell this one and get a 65 DZ since narrower or even a 50

Resurrecting an old thread. After almost 2 years of just dealing with the huge fridge in the back seat I broke down and built my own fridge slide...so yes you can fit a CFX-75DZW in the back seat of a double-cab tacoma with a slide...unlikely to find an off-the-shelf option though.

I did have to modify the platform slightly for the fridge slide since the fridge slide works by putting the "drawer" on top of the slides I basically had to drop the height of the platform by about 2-3" and used some spacer and a longer nut to make it work.

Talk about maximizing space. Saving this idea for a future possible mod.

The platform I built also with the dometic 75dz. Great access, easy to remove, factory seat mounts, and I add a tool drawer to use the space underneath. I like the OP half option!

32" locking drawer slides (Ryadon brand)
    32" length 3"x2" aluminum angle
scrap wood for the base, dressed with aluminum angle
stainless footman loops to run lashing strap to secure it
spare 1" tubular webbing for handle (I use this for all my handles on truck storage drawers as well)

Excellent. I especially like that you can extend it and clear given the rear door angle.

is there a more detailed write up you can give on how its all built or a parts list? is the drawer slides the fridge on not shown in the first pictures?

it looks to be built off of the seat bottom mounting points and not the seat back points right? is it just and 80/20 piece bolted into those points or is it a full platform then the 80/20 connected to that?

I don’t have a write up anywhere, unfortunately haven’t had time to put something together.

the fridge slides are bolted to the fridge and then the slide frame is bolted down to the platform. So when I remove the fridge there’s no hardware or anything left in the way.

the frame of the platform has two “feet” that bolt down to the rear seat bolt locations and then the front is supposed by the brackets that bolt down to the back of the front seats(you can see in the picture. ) the rear seats are completely removed. But I could unbolt everything and reinstall the seats is about an hour.

the tool drawer is 50” long and 18” wide and about 3.5” deep.

I attached an image when I was still building the frame. (It’s about 4” higher then it is currently) There’s a center support that’s not installed yet and none of the drawer mounts are installed yet. You can also see the front support bracket. There’s one on each side.
