Whipped up a better place for my pup to lay in the backseat of my Doublecab, with bonus storage underneath. My dog likes this much better as it's flat and wide, there's no edge to fall off, and she can see out the windows easily (she's a short chunky girl)

Just a basic screwed and glued plywood frame where the rear seats used to be

It's bolted to the same holes the seats bolted to, using bent brackets

The platform itself rests on top of the frame underneath. The platform is bolted to a piano hinge which itself is bolted to the rear bulkhead using Riv-nuts. The carpet is glued to the plywood platform to keep it from slipping around. The memory foam in the back is just zipties to convenient points on the rear bulkhead using the wooden batten to hold it all in place.

Pipe insulation foam is pinched onto a wooden forward lip on the platform to give a defined edge for the bed to stop against

A rubberized sheet (Ruffwear Dirtbag Seat Cover) is laid out over the top of the platform. This created a sling or hammock of sorts so that the dog+bed don't do falling off the forward edge. The sheet has clips on is that fit wonderfully around the headrests. Small pleats were sewn into the sheet to tighten up the slack to help everything fit snug. A loop of elastic cord also helps hold everything in place.

And a dogbed of memory foam remnants sit on top of it all, with plenty of storage on either side and behind.

Looks great! Almost perfect. I'm thinking some type of seat belt to attach to a quality Dog Harness would be a good addition to this setup. That platform puts the dog at the perfect level to go flying through the windshield if an accident occurred.
