I have a 2004 TRD Double Cab with a rough country lift. Recently had the frame recall done,(I know, lucky, huh?) and since I have the longer rear shackles, they threw away the factory shackles that came with the recall. My plan is to put factory shackles back on then do an "add a leaf" for lift and increased hauling capacity. If you have a set, call me at 828 279 4826.

Or, tell me why I shouldn't get rid on the longer shackles and what to do in order to increase rock, wood, and stone hauling capability. I'm also planning on getting OME 882 coilovers for the front to replace the rough country lift plates and cure the "lean".

    THANKS!!

What do you mean you have the longer rear shackles?

It was part of the rough country lift kit. They lower the leaf springs, raising the truck

Ahh I see. Well it all depends on how the truck is going to sit or how you want it to sit? If you get rid of them them is the truck going to sag in the back? How tired are your factory leaf springs ? Is just adding an AAL wise or would a new full leaf pack be better ? 882 coils are pretty tall, putting some severe angles on the CVs, I’d recommend 883 or 881 depending on how much lift you want. I still blew CV boots within a few months with 883s and the diff drop kit and that spring is shorter than the 882. There’s a lot to consider here. Post a picture of your truck so we can see how it’s sitting ?

If you use your truck for heavy loads id def recommend a slight rake so the truck sits level when it’s loaded

Don't really need it any higher. Definetly want to go with the OME s up front and have considered new springs in the rear. New Toyota leaf springs came with the frame recall and that's why I was considering the AAL and going back to stock shackles.

copy that. Nice truck, ya man if you have new leaves then maybe the AAL is the way to go. That shackle is prob fine, looks a lot like the ome one only not grease-able, your call really

Those look similar to my Downey extended shackles but painted black, I never knew RC sold their own extended version.
