I sandblasted my front differential and primed it with self etching primer followed by several layers of POR15 chassis paint. POR15 is some of the best underbody paint you can get.

Here's how rusty is was when I got it:

Not trying to be a dick but isn't por15 MADE to go over rust? I'm not sure it works the same over primer?

    It does.... :violent:
like any of those rust converters they can go over rust and claim to help/slow the cancer but work best and adhear the best when applied to a clean surface. Depending on his primer it might not “soak” into the metal like the can claims lol. But properly primed and coated is as good as it gets

The 4Runner I got it from spent time in the rust belt. The dust shields basically disintegrated from rust when I tried to remove the knuckle.

POR15 rust converter yes. I used POR15 topcoat made to go over POR15 rust converter.

It's basically just paint. It adheres better due to the fact that I used self etching primer rather than just painting over the cast iron.
