anyone here have them? Could you please post a few pics? I have had the AMP ones on a few trucks and would like to see the fit of both now that there is other options beside the AMP.

    Thank you.

I just installed my AMP research bed step yesterday and it took me about 15 minutes and it'd awesome I love it!!! Makes getting into the bed super easy!!

My guess is, they are both the same, just like the bed extenders. I went with AMP for my bed extender because it was cheaper, I could get all black and rectangular. The step is nice, but it looks funky from behind the truck. I was behind a Tundra a couple of days ago with one and it just looked tacky. GM and Ford both have much nicer options for getting into the bed unfortunately.

True but this is like the only way to get I to the bed with the tailgate down. It don't really look that bad behind the truck.

I installed the Sparebumper This thing will compress and take a 30MPH hit absorb the shock, while making a great bed step with the tailgate up. Don't need a tailgate down step

Yeah it's ugly but I am not entering any shows and for $139 it was the best solution. Function over form

If you leave it down a slight drag will bump it back up. I've done it. But if you back into something with it down it going to be trashed.

Plus if the tailgate is down is useless to get into the bed.....

I don't need a step to get into the bed with the tailgate down, only with it up. The only time I ride with tailgate down is when using the bed extender

Isn't that essentially at the same level as the bumper, which already has an indention to act as a step? I don't really see the point. Plus, if you think that thing is going to absorb a 30MPH hit you're kidding yourself ... The crush cans on the bumper don't even fully absorb that impact. All that extension is going to do is transfer more load through the hitch to the frame that would have been absorbed by the bumper and crushcans, so really you're defeating all of the crash safety mechanisms designed and engineered to take the crash load. The whole point of those systems being in place is to have easily replaceable parts that can take the hit and then be unbolted and replaced. Completely possible you just end up doing damage to the frame that normally wouldn't have occurred ...

With my lift and bigger tires I could make a lot of use of the under bumper step.

I am curious to see if one of the 2 steps hug up tighter to the bottom of the bumper.

I don't either need a step to get in the bed with the tailgate down. I'm a 54 year old man, (will be tomorrow) and I just put my knee on the tailgate, bring my right leg up and place my foot on the tailgate then stand up.

I do miss the corner step on the Colorado I traded in last month.

When I was 25 I was abusing my knees jumping down from a empty grain barge to a loaded one. I need my left knee replaced now and my right one is starting to bother me. When I can no longer stand the pain I'll get them operated on. Not looking forward to it that is for sure.
