Took my 2022 Tacoma to first 5,000 mile service also asked Reno Dealership to fix rear bumper alignment. Instead they took pictures of their trucks on lot with similar issues. Sent message to Toyota Corp and gave dealership a bad Yelp review. Any thoughts how I can get them to fix it?

Loosen the mount bolts, adjust until desired clearances achieved, tighten mount bolts to torque spec.

    Oh look, another mod....
Why would you give the dealership a bad Yelp review? They didn't assemble the truck. Toyota did.

Bed alignment, go to harbor freight and buy a torx t-55, and a big breaker bar. You don’t have to remove the bolts just back them off and give the bed a shove to adjust the gaps then crank the bolts down and drive happy.

You can (and so can your dealership) make small adjustments to your rear bumper. Search for threads on this. It's pretty common. You will need to remove the black step pad and lights/towing plug, but it's pretty doable. Took me about an hour. Your dealer can handle this and they've seen it before. Maybe try a different dealer or find the threads on this website. Good luck.

We have helped a few customers with this and adjusted the bumpers. However, the response we got from corporate Toyota was basically acknowledging the situation and just saying deal with it. We have a great service manager who just won’t let issues like this slide.

In the time it took you to write a bad yelp review (useless act) you could have adjusted your bumper yourself. If new Tacos on the lot are like that why think yours would be any different?

Why in the world are we OK with trucks leaving the factory with all these things misaligned? And why in the world are we OK with dealerships blowing us off when we bring it to their attention?

Probably because most people realize that their $40K production model vehicle isn’t a $300K hand assembled Bentley.

It might not be okay with you and I understand. However it is okay with me. I actually adjusted my bumper a half inch on my first day of ownership.
If you don't like it, then do what I do...vote with your wallet and buy something different, something that you carefully examine before purchase.
Toyota is not perfect at all. I'm okay with that because neither am I.

No, it sounds like you're a Toyota apologist. I've purchased plenty of cars under $40k that come from the factory with everything aligned.

Because they evidently don’t understand what customer service is. Sounds like they are skilled at kicking the can down the road though. I wonder why people ask such obvious questions? Customer shouldn’t have to align anything on a new truck. I’d do it myself, but the customer should not HAVE to.

I agree with you. We shouldn't have to, but sometimes, we do. You know why? Because this isn't a bespoke $400k Rolls Royce. It's a mass produced truck. Sometimes, quality gets over looked and you get odd panel gaps.

I get it, we're paying a lot of our hard-earned dollars for these trucks. But please stop expecting the trucks to be and look perfect. If you don't, you'll only have a lot of disappointment in your life.
