This was a quality concern and held a few 2023 up, they caught all of the slag prior to sale but it looks like it finally escalated to a recall. It’s likely an inspection and a pass rate of 99%

I hope all is well, only 3200 miles on it so when I take it for the first free oil change they should be able to check it out.

The bottom that was cut off said 2nd quarter 2024 it could be available, so it may be close the oil change time.

March 2022 build here and both the app and website say no recalls for mine, Access Cab. I also was happy to find out my VIN is not affected by the white paint issue, appears only models produced until late 2021.

This is an excellent talking point when trying to justify to your significant other why the thousands of dollars you spent on re-gearing is so important! "Honey, I read online that sometimes a nut can come loose on the axel. So that $3,000 I spent to re-gear and rebuilding the axels on my truck was really for you. I was worried about your safety. What if one day you were driving my truck and a nut came loose and you were in an accident? I could never forgive myself."

Hehehehe, if you think hard enough you can justify to the wife that you really only spent the money on mods to your truck so you could make sure she is always safe :)

I spend a lot of time under my 2022 Taco since I bought in new because I have to rust-proof it with lanolin grease. (I'm a surfer/fishermen and live a block from the ocean air/humidity). I can tell you look closely at every inch under my Tacoma and I didn't see any slag or bad welds so I guess this is only on a few? The quality of my frame looks much better than most other trucks/cars I see. And I work on a lot of family and friends cars. So this is strange. Can you imagine a Stellantis product?
