I am curious if anyone has done the DIY rear axle bearings and has purchased the SST puller tool to do this? I would like to purchase or rent (is there a tool rental section??).

I dont have enough posts to post in classifieds section.

Otherwise, i may just build it from 3" pipe and some plate.

Yes sir I’ve seen the DIY. I’m looking for someone selling or loaning out the tool.

The tool you get online works better than the SST and can be had for cheaper. It also comes with the pipe size required for pressing the retaining ring back on.

10-4. Still looking for someone who only needed it one time when they did their rear bearings. So they purchased the tool, used it once and have it laying around. I would love to buy it or rent it and help them recoup some costs from their project and save a little myself.

I like this idea, especially for jobs where you know it's more than likely a one time deal or it'll be another decade plus before you run across it again. I always see this thread in the 2nd Gen Parts Marketplace section and seems to be a good example: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/whoring-out-ecgs-bushing-tool.630638/

It'd be kind of cool to see some type of dedicated sub-forum section acting as a collector for all these special one-off type tools to be used as community loaners.
