I put Air Lift brand air bags on my old Gen one long ago and when the bags are inflated to the minimum pressure that they recommend you keep them at [5-7lb] , it raised the rear of the truck [empty] almost an inch. For those who have added air bags to 2016+ Taco's, did the minimum pressure lift the rear of your truck?

Using air bags in the rear will be taking the load off of the springs. You should only be putting air to them when your hauling loads unless you don't mind the lift and stiffer ride. Depending on the airbag diameter, I could see 5-7 psi lifting the rear an inch or so.

Air Lift requires a minimum of 5 PSI, regardless of current load

So the air bags don't bottom out or something? I guess that makes sense. At the same time I would think that your bump stops would hit before the air bags bottomed out though.

With the firestone air bags, you cut the bump stops off because that is where the air bags go. Bothe brands require that you keep some air pressure in the bag.

I have firestone bags on my double cab short bed Tacoma. In the bed I have a headache rack, a tool box with less than 100 lbs of gear and the Toyota bed mat. 4-5 psi, maybe a 1/4 inch "lift".

Nope. I have each bag on its own line and fill valve with a pump.

If you run the Daystar cradles and run 5 psi (minimum) I could see the bag not even hitting the cradle, thus not lifting rear at all.

Might be an option for ya.

The traditional airbag setup limits shock travel by 20% and can make for a stiff ride when traveling with an unloaded bed.

Ride Rite airbags with onboard compressor, Trail Ridge towing mirrors, 28,000 gwv external transmission cooler, Roll n Lock bed cover.
Daystar cradles will void the lifetime warranty on the Firestone Ride Rites.

    :goingcrazy:

With Daystars, you will love the extra flex Firestones provide not being tied top to bottom to the axle. The lifetime warranty is not as big a deal, as long as someone is careful when installing them and checks them whenever the car is put on a hoist to be sure cradle alignment is good, they should never have issues with them.

I run mine like this too- but also get a short piece of airhose and attach a quick release female air hose end to both sides to make a auto pressure leveling tool for whenever you refill or deflate the airbags- it levels them perfectly without needing a pressure guage. It works great!

I have a decked box and will soon have a camper shell so I'll have a little sag in the rear. I'm trying to decide on an aal or the ride rite bags, my truck is stock suspension and I don't tow anything, but I have 350 pound or so in the bed at all times. Also can a small 1/2" front plate spacer be installed to level out the front with the airbags?
