I had mine regeared at http://www.rearendspecialties.com/ . I bought the nitro gears From ECGS along with the needle bearing replacement bushing and he installed the bushing no charge. Small shop but you deal with the owner personally. They are in Santa Clara

Nope. Took him 3 days I think. Maybe 4... I can’t remember. I had it done in February of 19. My truck was fairly new. Around 8000 mi so I didn’t have the bearings replaced. I think he charged me 11 or 12 Benjamin’s. Keep in mind that was over a year ago so his cost may have gone up and he didn’t replace the bearings. I had no problem with waiting... I have a second vehicle.

I've used rear end specialties, they know what they're doing. Can also try Arabia's Offroad.

I recommend Shaffer's Offroad in Alameda. It's worth the 45 minute drive. I'm in San Jose and that is where I went.

Shaffer is the place to go. Just picked up my truck today from regear and Mike was very thorough. Gave him cash and he didn’t even bother counting it, just stuffed it in the drawer. I’m like you not going to count it

    Need some advice

Called Shaffers and got quoted 2600 with Nitro 4.56

1450 if I bring my own parts

Called ECGS, they gave me a prebuild quote for 3890 front and back, not including tax etc or core return, does this sound high?

that sounds about right from Shaffer. I brought in the gears, front/rear locker that I bought from ECGS when they had the 15% off sale and paid 1400 cash to Shaffer.

Might want to price out the gears from ECGS and see which option is cheaper. But either option will be cheaper than getting complete pumpkin from ECGS

If they are replacing your bearings as well, it sounds like a fair price. Rear end specialties in Santa Clara did mine last year and charged me $1100.No bearing replacement because it’s a 3rd gen and under 10k miles. I supplied the gears. They also replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing (which I supplied) at no cost! I hope this helps...
