Unofficial collection of RCI modified tacos. And install pointers. This is RCI only, we get and know, a bunch of shops make great gear.

Sliders install is a no brainer.. just sort your bolts out the two that connect the plates in front are longer, you need those.

I used a jack and balanced the slider on it. Then added a bunjicord to make sure the slider didn't fall on me fast. Move the jack until the slider is perfectly aligned with the first bottom bolt. Crawl under the slider, press it into the frame of taco with legs. And rapidly secure bolt 1. The rest is cake

    Post away..

I have intentionally slid on these... I have already ordered a pair for my 07 sport. I just ordered a bed rack, and a new roof rack for wifes 4runner..

I love they are my local brand. But RCI also uses the best steel, and they laser cut parts, so powder coating quality is wayyyyyy better. Water jets leave small particles of sand that you can never really remove. The O2 lasers melt the leading edge of each cut. I build shit for a living. RCI builds shit the way I do... 40% stronger then needed..

I'm obviously a fan. I'd love to hear some experience from people who have owned RCI for a few years

I have them on my 21 OR and as of yesterday thankfully so. Took it off road at the KYTLCA’s Back the Byway event in Red River Gorge, KY this weekend. Now to touch up the missing power coating.

Installed the IFS plate. Didn't have any help nearby nor a jack to hold it for me.

Used scrap wood and my knees to hold it in place. Nice to be able to do mod on the bottom of a vehicle without needing to jack it up.

Pretty straight forward, just took off the exisitng skid (Off-Road) and support, then used the included hardware. Wish I went with RCI for my sliders too over Explore-Overland (now-defunct, 6months later)

I did see a pair of RCI sliders at a ski area in wyoming. They were on a old g3 or g4 4runner. They had some rust in the step plate. I asked him if he liked the sliders he said "they were amazing, his were very old" the rust was because he spilt a battery over the powder coating.

Then he told me I would be retarded to buy anything but RCI... the 4runner looked like a mad max left over. But the truck was up and running. He said the real benefit of the sliders is the 4 angle iron cross members.. if you slide soo far your on the "slider" you just saved thousands in repair

    So here we go..

I have RCI sliders and the three skid plates on my Tacoma and 4Runners. Pretty straight forward installation. I have a roof rack for the Tacoma and 4runner in the garage that will be going on, instructions are straight forward.

ordered mine april 12th, hoping another 3 weeks before they arrive...

anybody have any issues with the bolts that are mounted around the brake lines? i've heard some don't install the bolt(s) in this area or they reverse the bolt(s) so there's no rubbing on the line. just wondering if this is something to be concerned about.

I haven’t been impressed with their sliders. I only have 21k on my truck, haven’t driven around that much and both are rusting. Seems like they should hold up longer. Their powder coat doesn’t seem that great. Also the design with the top plate traps water along the top. They also gave me a bunch of shitty bolts, and not enough, so I had to get grade 8 bolts and washers. Maybe I will drive down there and ask them if this is what’s expected.
