Did a quick search and found no other mention of these on TW. Looking at the product page, they mention nothing about being DOT or SAE compliant. And in the install video they show exactly zero shots of what the beam pattern/output look like.

Let's just put it this way...Rough Country isn't known for a reputation of quality parts. As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for."

You could always ask them to be reviewed in the megathread for a more scientific approach: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-led-sae-j583-fog-pod-fog-light-review.554813/

The page says 30-deg spot beam and "off-road use only". They are off road auxillary lights, not fog lights. Is that what you want?

Installation looks pretty straightforward and the wiring harness looks good in pictures, with Deutsch connectors and adapters to plug into the factory H11 fog light connectors.

See the thread linked above. The only LED fogs that will stand a chance in snow are Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro, SS3 Max and Morimoto 4banger HXB. All other LED fogs will pack over with snow in the right conditions where snow sticks. Of those 3 the SS3 Max perform best, they have sharper cut offs and higher output intensity than the Pro while running hotter, and a much wider pattern than the Morimoto HXB. Selective yellow is the best color choice, as it will minimize reflection off the snow and is easier to visually process, while also benefiting from a significantly hotter lens which helps prevent snow accumulation.

And as mentioned, those RC lights are definitely not fog lights, they are off road only lights that will be completely ineffective in poor weather and shouldn't be run on the street.

Excellent, I will look into those.

    Thanks
