I know what Volk Racing wheels demand a premium. Forged wheels are stronger and lighter and take significantly more steps and time to build. Rays engineering has a 10,000 ton press to use to forge their wheels. It’s badass. But they also cost like $1000 a piece.

I’ve been looking at the Ray Gram Lights and was a disappointed to see that they are plain jane cast. I haven’t been able to find a lot of information on their casting process and I’ve seen folks reference these wheels and say that because of Rays unique casting process, they are incredibly strong and still only weigh like 21 pounds (17x8.5).

what do folks think? Does anyone have any insight into how these wheels are made and if they are any stronger than any other cast wheel? I’m hard on my truck and don’t want to break a $600 wheel my first time out with them. That said, they are stunning.
