Finally getting around to making this post. I wheel my tacoma all the time and around here the trails are really tight, so lots of pin striping. It got to a point where I had so many scratches and dents that it was time to fix the paint and make the truck look good again, while protecting it from further damage.

What the paint looked like after a car wash

Fender got messed up from the latest wheeling trip so pulled that off to hammer the shape in close
    20210810_182059.jpg
Fender back on and sanded it all down
    20210811_172955.jpg
Put Bondo on everything to get the shape.

Buddy had a stud gun so that made pulling the door panel out a lot easier
    20210811_185523.jpg
Quick coat of black primer to seal everything

Bed was pretty bad from a wheeling trip last winter. Hammered out what I could and Bondo filled the rest

Quick coat of primer to seal it

Had to sand the entire truck down. Then had to mask everything which was the most work. Unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the masking

I bought 8 liters/quarts of black raptor liner which comes with the hardener and the gun. All you need is an air compressor to run the air gun. I ended up only using 5 bottles and ended up with about 3 or 4 coats. Came out really good. Few spots weren't perfect but you need to look for it to see it. So far I've gone though the trails and it holds up great. Branches leave behind wood on the body like sandpaper, but simply wipes away with no damage to the paint. Fuel economy I maybe lost about .5 or 1 mpg but at this point fuel economy on this thing is already trash. Overall came out great

    I dig it.
Why did you decide to spray the mirror mount and not underneath the mirror? Sunfaded?
I ask because mine are getting bad.

My mirror got broken off by a tree so I sprayed it in order to cover the line of glue haha. Also the bottom has the camera under there so I left that unpainted

I masked off all the door seals so they didn't get covered. I know a guy who just sprayed right onto them and it looks bad but doesn't affect the seal really because the part that is exposed isn't doing the sealing.

You definitely went the correct route to fix the issue. Got messed up wheeling and put a tougher product on it to help prevent it. If it gets messed up again, repeat the process and probably saves some money from having a professional (not saying your not) over charging to paint it for it to get it messed up again and again.

    Definitely digging it. Looks good.

Looks good. I raptor'd my old truck. Overtime I did have noticeable chips in it. It's not as flexible as some other products.

Put a few cans of spray paint in the back seat of your car, about that much weight

Definitely a cheaper route. The entire thing cost me about $400, and that's with buying the paint, Bondo, sander, and misc items
