    Hello!

Did a quick search, couldn't find anything definitive or specific here or through google.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with fitting a Ford Ranger fibreglass cap to a 2nd gen Tacoma. I found a used one that a guy says was on his 2011 Tacoma, and fits well, but apparently it was made for a ranger.

Measurements seem to match ok, and the price is right. But its a 5hr drive for me to go for just a "test fit" so I ask for any wisdome on the topic.

I have found some Tacoma specific caps, but they are all triple the price and similar distance away (that's what you get for living in a fairly rural community I guess).

Thanks in advance for any input, and Happy Easter everyone!!!

Yup, you can make it fit but not ideal. Lots of bed sill showing as it sits just on the inside lips. I had one clamped on my truck as I moved across the country. It fit and sealed but was a bit short and narrow to look good permanently on a 2nd gen Tacoma on my opinion.

Ah! Thanks very much, nice to see a picture of how it sits. Yup, everything I have found so far agrees with you. As much as this is an awesome deal, I think I will pass and wait till I can find a reasonably priced Tacoma specific cap. The ranger caps just look a little out of place on the Tacoma.

    Thanks again for the input!!!

for $150 I'd buy it if its in good shape. If it doesn't fit sell it for $200 and make a few bucks

I have a ranger camper I use occasionally for camping, it works fine, I was even able to use the same bolts it came with.

I put a foam gasket all the way around it. It doesn’t even leak in the car wash. I’ll post a pic later.

    Looks great.

By the way you do a great job taking care of that radiant red paint job. So many people let that color oxidize and it’s a shame.

Any idea what year that cap is for? I have a 06 radiant red access cab that I would like to put a cap on.

Do it, easy mod. Painted mine with rhino liner from auto zone or Walmart. I paid $150 for the shell

I’m surprised too about my paint . I run it through the car wash every 2weeks or so and pay for the extra spray wax.
