Here's a strange one. Today I received a package from Wal-mart addressed to "first initial (my last name.)" What's odd is the initial is my nickname, any orders/online stuff I do is with my full first name. Think Robert and Bob, it was addressed to "B Smith" instead of "R. Smith."

No return address, it was dropped off by a door dash (I think) and what's in the package?

    A box of saltine crackers.

I know about the brushing scam, but those are usually for the item they're hawking - you receive it in mail, scammer uses your name as a verified buyer to boost reviews on Amazon or other places. I doubt anyone is boosting reviews for saltine crackers lol

I did search around, apparently this is a thing. Tried to "report" it to customer service and they are of course clueless. I don't have a walmart.com account, no nefarious charges in any of my accounts . . . it's just odd.

Anyone have any insights on what the weirdo's are up to today?

I'm in to see how this plays out.

We seem to have finally stopped getting the previous owners' mail every couple of days, meaning we don't get much of anything other than flyers.

But they might be "special" crackers LOL

I don't even like crackers! The box was sealed, I opened it looking for the special decoder ring, nothing but the four sealed packages, it obviously came from Wal-mart off the shelf.

A couple of years ago I got a 3 pack of dial soap with a gift receipt off of Amazon. I didn't have any soap on any of my wish lists so that was weird. But it was definitely addressed to me. I sent a thank you with the link basically asking who is this but I never heard anything back.

Pretty sure I saw a Forensic Files episode where a guy opened a 6 pack of soda, put poison in it, resealed the bottles then left them on someone's porch.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Interesting in my area the only shipping from Walmart is by Fed-Ex Ground. I no longer will order from Walmart .

Then the label always tells what warehouse it is shipped from.

Just a shipping label showing your address? Anything delivered should have a way to track the chain of custody of the package if it was a legit carrier.

Then it could have been a much more interesting package.

I will say I have repurposed boxes for shipping parts though the all have a very good label .

Who knows what goes on in your neck of the country.

I had this happen to me last year. Over the course of about 5 weeks, I received 4 different items addressed to a non existent person. Even checked with neighbors. Water bottles, pack of college ruled notepads, Gel pens, can't remember the last. Trivial stuff. I told Amazon custom service, and the random packages magically stopped.

No I think it was something ordered for delivery from the local store. There's no shipping label, the label says

    E6335
2:50 PM (It arrived via the door dash guy about 3:45)
    GMD trip:2137
    (my name)
    (bar code)
    AMBIENT

    Bizarre.

<OT> Does anyone remember the "Tylenol murders" of 1982? It's the reason we have seals on everything now.
