Rancho Quick Lift with RS9000 shocks

    So I went with the Rancho Quick Lift and RS9000 shocks - love the ride. Includes upper control arms and the shocks give an amazing ride. Way better than stock.

    Should have tried this sooner. I had been considering an OME setup, but the price was a bit much? As the rear lift is just a block with shocks, I'm thinking about eventually going to All Pro springs in the rear? That can wait though - really happy with the ride as is and tows way better.

    Did you really spend $1200 on that lift and thought that the OME kit was too expensive?

    Yeah - the OME was a little more ($200) and did not include the upper control arms. Moreover, theRS9000XL shocks are amazing - I'm realling enjoying the variable valving. Don't get me wrong, from everything I've read, OME is an excellent product with few complaints. The Rancho setup I went with rides great and works better for a rig that is my daily driver/sometimes expedition vehicle/17' trailer hauler (because my wife only glamps).

    I should add that I'm in Northern Canada, so I don't get the awesome US pricing you guys seem to get. That said, for my purposes, I think I made the right purchase. This works better for a vehicle which isn't just set up for one thing. I'm happy with it and though the OME is an excellent product, I'm not sure that I'd be as happy - especially when doing the daily driving.

    Not that I've noticed. I'm out of town, but I'll break out the tape measure when I get home. My experience has been that the Ranchos give better than factory ride and perfect alignment. I had it done at a local shop - Fort George Alignment in Prince George, BC. They did an awesome job.

    after having more then 2 sets of 9000s fail, never again, some of the worst shocks i have ever ran lol. they over heat at the slightest off road parts.

    but you should be fine if you dont go off road to much lol

    Hey OP, just wondering if/when you hit washboard roads you could give an update. I have been considering this lift, but I need something that will handle reasonable (70 km/h) on washboard without my traction control going crazy.

    Also, do you have any more pics of the truck lifted?

    Well, went from Price George Bc to Hyder Alaska via the Kispiox Valley (gorgeous drive on forest service roads with a lot of washboard) and it was great. I really like the ride of this lift. I didn't have any problems with the washboards - it is a really smooth ride without the traction control kicking in. Don't get me wrong, I could still feel the washboard (as I expect you would on any suspsension), but it wasn't jarring. My buddy Brian who was with me (he drives a Cheev one ton) commented that he figured we'd be getting killed in his truck due to the stiff suspension. I did the washboards at setting 5 in the front shocks and 4 in the rear on Hyder trip I mentioned above. Now I'm curious about experimenting on a section of washboard at different settings to see how it performs... hmmm, maybe this weekend.

    I find that the ride seems to be very smooth no matter the setting. When setting the shocks in the low numbers (for offroad) it gets 'bouncier' while the higher numbers (for performance/towing says Rancho) the truck stays more solid or level. No matter what setting, there aren't any of the jarring hits I used to get with my stock suspension. I also love that the alignment is perfect. No issues with that.

    I'll take some pics of the truck showing the lift and post them tonight.

    Here are some shots. Pic 8184 is the side view of my truck - ordinarily the Ranchos are more visible, but the sun was so bright the camera couldn't do the contrast into the wheel well. Pics 8188 and 8189 are the rear shock and block. The other two pics are the front shock, spring and upper arm.

    I'm still running my 245/75R16 Procomps for the moment. I'm still considering what size I want - 255/85, 235/85... Still on the fence

    265/75 is a possibility, but I really prefer the narrower tires. I really like the look and they perform better for where I live (Northern BC). A narrower tire works well summer and winter on the snow/gravel/rock we have here. Perhaps if I lived somewhere with more loose terrain, then I'd lean towards a wider tire. We'll see what I get in the end. My Procomps have a lot of tread left and I need to save for the tires anyways.

    I'm not sure about the OP, but I ordered mine from Tdot performance for $1200 with free shipping to BC. Took about a week to get to me.

    OP, what did FGA charge you for the install and alignment?
