I was headed home tonight on the freeway and ran over something I didn't see and it cause a loud boom as it hit the underside of my truck. I pulled off the road to see if it caused any damage and didnt see any body damage so I got back in the truck to drive off and my CEL and Trac Off light were on as well as the Triangle warning light. I crawled under the truck and found that the debris and pulled a plug on the inside of the frame rail loose and did some damage to the rigid lines running along the frame. The loose plug put it into limp mode but I was able to plug it in and drive the truck as normal but the CEL and Trac light stayed on. Headed to the dealership first thing in the morning to check it out. Called State Farm and started a claim just in case. 20160129_195543.jpg

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. At least you were able to get home. I will be interested to hear how this turns out.

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
That sucks. Wonder what the issue is? Seriously considering some skids for times just like this, and for when cruising the malls!!

Thank god you didn't say you were taking it to the dealer for warranty claim.....:D

That was not road debris....looks like you ran over a stack of circular saw blades.

Is that your charcoal canister? If yes, those cut tubes need to be spliced back together. Those cut tubes are what turned on the CEL.

I just crawled under my truck. I traced those lines back looks like they are your rear drum brake lines.

Insurance claim. What's your deductible? Sucks, but suck it up. Shit happens.

Deductible is $100 comprehensive and $500 collision. They said they couldn't tell which one it would be filed under until they could inspect it.

OP maybe you will get some good news. From "just" these pictures it only looks like cosmetic damage. The brake cable looks like the outside coating of rubber is cut ... that is what it is there for is to protect the cable. This is under the truck ... electrical tape will fix that right up. If one of the wiring harness plugs was loose and is okay now; a code reader can clear the codes.

Every truck will get some bumps and bruise. Hopefully this is nothing too serious and things will work out fine!

Dealer said it broke the fuel pressure ecu plug (white one on the bottom). They have to order the replacement which is $10. They cleared the CEL and Trac light and said they will let me know when the plug comes in.
