    True, but look at the display options. Has the watt gauges as one option.

    As far as just leaving the stock head unit, I'll relate my experience:

    I have, at different times, swapped out the speakers (first), and then the head unit a year, or four later. I noticed the most dramatic difference, putting aftermarket (low to mid level Sony) speakers in with the stock head unit. I noticed a less dramatic (but still noticeable) increase sound quality when I installed the new head unit.

    Once you see how cheap the stock speakers are, you'll be surprised that it sounds as good as it does. The magnets are the roughly the circumference of a nickel.

    Well the speakers I've got picked out are like $250 a pair so at that point I feel like it would be foolish not to take out anything that would hinder them.

    I guess I will end up getting what is available, metal or not...

    Side note, it seriously is crazy the voodoo the stock speakers have!!!
