Hey guys. I decided to replace my radiator mount bushing due to squeaking. Everything is all fine and dandy until I tried lining up the hole for the bolt to go through.

Any tips on how to line up the holes?
It’s getting dark here in San Deigo, might have to uber to work tomorrow if I don’t get this sorted out. Lol

Jack it up again and use a crow bar or piece of metal between the mount and the pinch weld to move it.

I tried using a crow bar and couldn’t get it to line up. I’ll try again tomorrow when I have more daylight.
I left the upper bushing on there without the bolt, is that a bad idea?

I’ll give a shot tomorrow when I have more daylight. For now, it’s park in the driveway with the upper bushing mounted but no bolt.

It'll be fine as long as you don't move the truck :)

I backed it out from my garage to the driveway very very slowly. It’s parked slightly inclined....sigh

So what was the outcome here because I'm running into the same problem. Bolt goes through, but at an angle so I can't slide the interior metal barrel up into the bushing.

Leverage, just move it over, it'll only drop about an inch.

What worked for me was using a 21mm wrench and just kept moving it around until it lined up. I read somewhere here that the 3rd gen Tacoma came off the lot already misaligned lol.

Pry bar and move it so that he bolt aligns. Seems to be a common issue. Not too hard to do with a pry bar.

Alway good to have a few of these if you're planning to work on your truck!

Pry bars are your friend here. Also don't hammer down on one side and then try to install the other side. Leave them both lose till both are threaded in. Then hammer down on them.
