As part of the process to install my winch bumper it will be necessary to remove the grill. In doing so I was told that I would need to have the radar system re-calibrated due to unplugging and or moving the unit. I was also told that leveling or lifting the truck would require the same. It appears the dealer charges $250.00 to complete this process. Is this truly necessary or is this a dealer tactic for more money. Thank You

I unplugged and removed mine when swapping grilles. Never had a calibration issue.

I changed my grill to a Pro type and leveled the truck with 1 inch in the front. Sensor was R and R for the grill and its location changed via the Pro grill. I have had no issues. I use the adaptive cruise all the time and it works no differently than it did the day I bought it. The system must have some allowance for variations. Re-calibration is probably called for, but it might not always be necessary. I doubt disconnecting the sensor requires recalibration if the vehicle was not turned on while it was disconnected.
Just my experience and my 2 cents. Opinions may vary.

The radar has non-volatile memory, you can unplug them anytime you want to. No need to calibrate.

No problem with my grill swap. Sensor worked fine. Save your money.

I’m doing it for fun because I’m always bored. I’m just trying to fill up that entire spreadsheet. There are a ton of repeats so it’s hard to find some members with certain configurations.

Cool project. With the folks here, you should get it all filled out. Although, those Windchill Pearl folks are pretty rare.

Honestly, I'd like to see a couple rows for a US ACLB OR MT. Any color. Folks say that there are actually some.
